In line with its commitment to offer the most complete chemical solutions to the market, Braskem will announce at Feica, the largest fair in the European adhesives and sealants market, the evolution of the portfolio of hydrocarbon resins Unilene ®, which now has a ‘LN’ line – C9 resins with low odor. The fair will be held from 11 to 13 September in Croatia.

With a production capacity of 5,000 tons per year, Unilene® LN is the result of an improved production process in which Braskem achieves a naphthalene content of less than 100 particles per million. This development meets the demand of the paint and adhesive markets and ensures odor reduction in both manufacturing and final product.

Widely applied in the adhesive market in hotmelt, PSA and solvent-based technologies, Unilene® hydrocarbon resins, available at different softening points, have high fixation and adhesion, improve application time, and are compatible with various polymers such as natural rubber, SBR and polychloroprene.

The new grade also features what Unilene® line already offers customers with: high drying speed and paint adhesion to different substrates, in addition to increasing gloss and solids content, is also considered as a water repellent agent. Its chemical stability facilitates handling and compatibility with various polymers and the high purity gives the resins high performance for industrial application.

Annik Varela, Commercial Manager for Braskem’s Specialty Chemicals Business, explains that Unilene® is already a consolidated line in its market, but the evolution of the portfolio expands its possibilities. “As a leader in the production of hydrocarbon resins in Latin America, we seek to listen to our customers’ needs so that together we can find the best solutions. We are very pleased with this evolution in our portfolio, ensuring chemical specialties that improve productivity and increase the competitiveness of the sector “, she says.

Developed by Braskem’s team of specialty engineers and chemical engineers located at ABC’s Petrochemical Complex, Unilene® LN solution is now available for sale in Latin America, the United States, Asia and Europe, as well as Brazil.
