At an event held in São Paulo on Wednesday (27), Braskem was highlighted in the Chemicals and Petrochemicals category of the “Exame Diversity Yearbook.” This is the periodical’s first publication recognizing the country’s best companies in terms of their actions to promote gender equality, racial equality, inclusion of persons with disabilities and promotion of LGBTI+ rights.

“At Braskem, through our Diversity & Inclusion Program, we are constantly working to ensure a more inclusive workplace and opportunities for everyone,” said Debora Gepp, the program’s head.

With 109 companies participating in the selection process, the yearbook presented those with above-average scores on the online questionnaire developed by the Ethos Institute in partnership with the Center for Studies of Labor Relations and Inequality, the Business Coalition for Racial and Gender Equality, the Forum of Companies and LGBTI+ Rights, the Woman 360 Movement and the Business Network to Foster Social Inclusion.

    Other recognitions
Last year, Braskem was recognized by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, the world’s largest organization promoting LGBT+ rights in the workplace, for its efforts to foster diversity and the inclusion of LGBT+ people in corporate environments. It also was elected one of the most loved companies by team members in a survey conducted by Love Mondays, the digital platform of Glassdoor, in which employees evaluated the companies where they work. And it figured among the best Companies for Launching a Career, according to a survey by the magazine Você S/A.

“These achievements are the result of initiatives such as training programs and actions to promote leader and team member engagement, the creation of working groups and forums to promote diversity and the inclusion and review of recruiting and hiring guidelines, which all seek to ensure that our criteria and orientations help to ensure diversity,” explained Camila Dantas, head of Corporate P&O at Braskem.
