“The Enseada Shipbuilding shipyard combines high technology, results-focused management, and a strong environmental policy, making it one of the most efficient shipyards,” said Maurício Almeida, Operations Director of the Odebrecht Group company.

He spoke in October during OTC Brasil, the fourth conference organized by the Offshore Technology Conference and the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP). It reflects the company’s differential amidst the shortage of orders from the naval construction sector.

OTC Brasil participation was focused on presenting the industrial unit as an alternative for the construction of hulls and FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) ship modules and for other oil and gas industry demands. “What was important is that we can present all the shipyard’s potential to this qualified public,” explained Fernando Barbosa, Business Leader at the Naval Construction Company and President of Enseada Shipbuilding. “The presence at the fair was important for showing the market that we are ready to once again operate offering the best in naval construction,” he said.

An Enseada stand was set up at Riocentro, where OTC Brasil took place, and was visited by investors and representatives from other companies and governments, like Fernando Coelho Filho, Minister of Mines and Energy.

    Strategic Point

Located in Maragogipe, Bahia, the Enseada Shipbuilding shipyard occupies an area of 1.6 million square meters in a strategic localization that favors the development of highly complex naval and offshore projects. At the mouth of the Paraguaçu River, located 23 nautical miles from Salvador, a large draft and area for maneuvering large-sized vessels was built in a region of sheltered waters.

The shipyard has a team trained in the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Japanese technology, considered a global reference in quality and productivity. With a recent strategic repositioning, the company has increased its operations and now has an industrial and logistics center.

    Libra and Cidade de Itajaí

Odebrecht Oil & Gas also took part in the meeting, where it presented the projects for FPSO Pioneiro de Libra and FPSO Cidade de Itajaí, developed by the joint venture 50/50 OOGTK, formed by the company and by Teekay Offshore. “Our participation is entirely associated with the partnership with Teekay and the projects we are doing together in Brazil, which present the most modern technological solutions in the sector,” emphasized Jorge Mitidieri, Senior Officer of Integrated Services at Odebrecht Oil & Gas

    OTC Brasil

The conference presented innovative solutions for challenges in deep waters and other highly relevant technologies for the offshore industry in the country. The event included more than 180 technical studies, 26 technical sessions, and 14 panels
