Having transparent and quality communication with society is one of Odebrecht’s commitments. Based on this premise, leaders of diverse areas at the holding company are participating in the relationship program with major Brazilian universities, such as the University of São Paulo (USP), Centro Universitário FEI, Faculdades de Campinas (Facamp), Mauá Technology Institute and Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM).

“Having this agenda is creating and strengthening a channel for dialogue with youth,” explained Patrícia Navarro e Melo, responsible for the public relations program at Odebrecht S.A.

The relationship program with universities brings Odebrecht to classrooms, with lectures on a variety of topics, and also brings students to the company’s units, reinforcing their hands-on experience.

“For us at Odebrecht, being with the students is an opportunity to collaborate in their learning process and also to listen to them,” highlighted Domitila Carbonari, responsible for Corporate Communication and Marketing and one of the speakers at the program. “At ESPM, for example, we speak to advertising and journalism students about Odebrecht’s trajectory of recovering its reputation, sharing practical experiences of the subjects studied by them.”

Check out the testimonials of the teachers Silvio Sato from ESPM, and Sandra Leonardo from Mauá:

“Bringing companies and universities increasingly closer integrates universes that complement the students’ learning process. Odebrecht’s participation in the discipline that I teach – Corporate Communication Strategies – was focused on crisis management. Students had the opportunity to know in depth the corporate communication structure of a major company and to study a practical example of a crisis management plan, with each phase studied in detail, combining the objectives and strategies for different stakeholder groups.”
    Silvio Sato, professor at ESPM

“Bringing companies and universities closer often represents the students’ first contact with the job market. Mauá has been striving to offer these precious opportunities to its students and Odebrecht is one of our partners as part of the Journey for the Future program we launched in 2017 with Cia de Talentos. In this program, students can participate in lectures, workshops and technical visits organized by companies. Odebrecht’s contribution has been marked by cooperation, quick response, punctuality and commitment. Students from the nine engineering, management and design courses have already participated in Odebrecht’s lectures on sustainability, for example. They could thus learn about a practical example on how sustainability is included in the company’s strategy. The relationship between academia and the market is a key process for the exchange of knowledge and skills.” Sandra Leonardo, professor at Mauá Technology Institute
