Created in 2004, this initiative celebrates 15 years of bringing people who believe in people together. Be a part of it!

    Campaign continues until December 6th

The 2019/20 Tribute to the Future’s campaign begins today, 1 October. With the theme “bringing people who believe in people together”, the initiative coordinated by Odebrecht Foundation celebrates its 15th anniversary by mobilizing donations for educational projects aimed at the socio-productive formation and inclusion of adolescents benefited from the Family Houses (Casas Familiares) – rural schools that are part of the Foundation’s Social Program, the PDCIS.

Until December 6th, anyone can donate. To participate, visit www.tributoaofuturo.com, make a quick registration, choose the project you want to support and make a contribution. In addition to the website, the donation can be made through WhatsApp (71) 99699-6397, or by e-mail tributoaofuturo@odebrecht.com.

Thiago Maciel, responsible for the Tribute to the Future at Odebrecht Foundation, explains that the funds mobilized are directly remitted to Local Funds for Children’s and Adolescents’ Rights through the Local Council of Children’s and Adolescents’ Rights (CMDCA). “This is a totally safe and transparent process. The Funds receiving the donations are managed by the Local Councils, formed by representatives from the Public Authority and the Civil Society, responsible for deliberating, monitoring and inspecting how the funds are being applied. The contributions made to the Tribute to the Future never go through Odebrecht Foundation.

For the 2019 campaign, a 15-year commemorative stamp was created highlighting the connection between people

    Results

Over these 15 years, approximately 50,000 young people and families have already been directly or indirectly benefited. In 2018, more than 5,300 people embraced the cause and contributed with approximately R$ 2.3 million. With the support of this fund, important results were achieved in the first half of 2019: 327 students are still being trained at the Family Houses, and 204 multiplying actions were carried out in the form of seminars, lectures and field days held by students to disseminate knowledge and new agricultural techniques to the communities.

    Supported projects

The donations make possible to train teenagers from three schools in Southern Bahia Lowlands Rural Family House of Igrapiúna (CFR-I), and Rural Family House of Presidente Tancredo Neves (CFR-PTN) and Agroforestry Family House (Cfaf),. These institutions are recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC), certified by Unesco’s Associated Schools Network, and offer the students vocational technical courses integrated with High School.

Today, Edivan, 28 y.o., owns his own business.

Through education, the lives like the rural producer Edivan Alcântara have undergone significant transformations. At 28 years old, the farmer shares his achievements. He “had the dream of making a living from agriculture,” he joined the CFR-PTN in 2008 and was able to draw a better future for himself from the socio-productive inclusion: “We know that, alone, we are nobody. For me being able to work was my biggest dream. I studied to get my own business. There’s no greater recognition than that, that’s my independence,” he says.

Edivan was one of the beneficiaries of the Tribute to the Future. Through the funds mobilized in the campaigns, the farmer had access, when he was still a student at the Family House, to his first productive project, starting his own crops.
