Atvos works everyday to build a cleaner tomorrow, from renewable energy and sustainable initiatives. One of them is the production of ethanol, a fuel that transforms the daily lives of thousands of people in the country. Ethanol is a sustainable alternative for vehicle fuel, in addition to being used for the production of green plastic, cleaning products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other products.

Ethanol is more beneficial to the environment due to the reduction of greenhouse gases. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA),the reduction can be up to 89% compared to gasoline. Due to its production process,  which is made from plants that absorb the carbonic gas from the burning of the product during photosynthesis, causing less production waste. In addition, according to a study published in 2017 in Nature Communications magazine, ethanol also contributes to the health of the population, since it reduces the concentration of nanoparticles in the air, one of the pollutants present by burning fossil fuel, which enter the bloodstream and can increase the incidence of respiratory and Cardiovascular diseases. By fueling with ethanol, It is like trees are being planted, and helping the population breathe better.

Besides being better for people, it is also good for vehicles’ engine, as it prevents the accumulation of dirt in the nozzles, avoiding the most frequent maintenance and difficulty in operation. Not to mention the best octane rating, that is, more resistance to detonation, preserving the engine and generating a yield of up to 30% higher than that of gasoline, according to the Mauá Institute of Technology and UNICA. In other words, the vehicle’s engine gets more powerful.

The use of biofuels is not just about environmental benefits, but about a whole chain of operations that generates thousands of jobs throughout the country, Stimulating farmers and producing more than just fuel. Ethanol production generates other sources of energy, once the sugarcane bagasse, The by-product of the production process, is used to generate renewable electricity, which can power entire cities.

Atvos aims at to contribute to a more sustainable future and participates in initiatives that encourage the use of biofuels, such as RenovaBio, National Policy on Biofuels, created in line with commitments made at the Climate Conference (Paris Agreement) which foresees an emission reduction of 43% of the carbon intensity of the country’s energy matrix by 2030. The company is also a signatory to the UN Global Compact, reinforcing its purpose with the environment and climate change, following the Sustainable Development Goals related to the matter.

You can also choose a cleaner future, with less pollution and improved quality of the air we breathe. Going to fuel up? Use Ethanol!
