  • Conclusion of negotiations for EOSP

    DATA: 05/23/2019

    Dear Team Member,

I inform you that, in yet another step of our financial restructuring, Odebrecht concluded today the negotiations for the Odebrecht São Paulo Building (OSPB) that were begun in 2018, which will transfer the building’s ownership and reduce our debt by around R$500 million.

However, this does not change in any way our daily work routines at the OSPB.

The deal guarantees that the Odebrecht Businesses and auxiliary companies currently housed in the building (Odebrecht S.A., Braskem, OEC, Atvos, OR, OTP, OCS, Odebrecht Previdência and Ocyan) will continue to occupy the same spaces where they are today.

All building services, including the parking lot, restaurant, cafeteria and outpatient clinic, will continue to operate normally under the management of Odebrecht.

The negotiation of the building provides two immediate financial advantages for our companies, while enabling our team members to continue to enjoy the comforts and functionalities of the facilities.

First, we can remove from the balance sheet of Odebrecht S.A. the debt of approximately R$500 million related to the loan for one of the most modern buildings in São Paulo, which, since its inauguration in 2013, has successfully revitalized a previously degraded area in the Butantã district.

Second, with the transaction, the company will save around 50% on its previous occupancy costs, which were used to amortize the original loan for the building’s construction. Now, with the lease agreements with the future owners, SDI Gestão and Berzel Properties, our companies will be more competitive by paying a lower monthly rental compatible with market values.

The conclusion of the sale of the building, therefore, represents yet another positive step in the Group’s deleveraging strategy and as such will contribute to our financial restructuring and increased efficiency, which are critical for successfully surmounting the challenges of today and tomorrow.

    Warm regards,

    Luciano Guidolin
    Chief Executive Officer
    Odebrecht S.A.
