  • Message from Luciano Guidolin | Leniency Agreement with CGU and AGU of Brazil

    DATA: 07/10/2018

    Dear team members,

It is with immense satisfaction that I share with you this news that consolidates our path towards a new growth cycle.

The Ministry of Transparency and the Federal Controller General (CGU) and the Office of the General Counsel for the Federal Government (AGU) yesterday (July 9) signed a leniency agreement with Odebrecht that upholds this institute, strengthens the legal certainty for the sustainable recovery of Odebrecht’s growth and serves as an example to disseminate good practices in the relationship between the public sector and private companies.

This is the biggest leniency agreement ever entered into by CGU and AGU. The amount, approximately R$2.7 billion, will be paid within 22 years. It is included in the R$3.8 billion established in the leniency agreement entered into with the Federal Prosecution Office and authorities of the United States and Switzerland in December 2016.

It is an important achievement for us that CGU and AGU acknowledged the soundness of the integrity program of Odebrecht group companies.  For both institutions, the agreement will contribute to the recovery of the Brazilian infrastructure market, with renewed practices and gains for society as a whole.

This agreement and the Instrument of Commitment to cancel the provisional suspension imposed by Petrobras on OEC and Ocyan since December 2014, announced by Petrobras last Friday (July 7), strongly encourage us to increasingly dedicate ourselves to our PAs.

It is up to us to seize this moment.

As always, we are counting on you.

    Luciano Guidolin
    CEO
    Odebrecht S.A.
