Since the beginning of the health crisis and the adoption of quarantine, Ocyan has carried out several proactive prevention actions with the intention of minimizing the effects caused by COVID -19.
– The commitment to our members and the society in general, and especially to communities where our activities are inserted, is in our culture. Since the beginning of this COVID-19 crisis, we have already donated food staples and mattresses to communities in Cabo Frio and acetate plates to UFRJ (Macaé) for the productin of masks for health professionals. We also held a free online sewing course for residents of underprivileged communities in the city of Rio de Janeiro, to train their people and encourage the generation of extra income, and we also committed to purchasing 60,000 masks produced by these professionals, which will be donated – says Marco Aurélio Fonseca, Ocyan’s Sustainability Director.
The executive also explains that the company has adopted measures to prevent the proliferation of the virus among its members, such as remote work for those working in office positions in Brazil and abroad, in addition to several barriers and preventive measures on vessels and the logistics of members to ensure their safe shipment.
